A case of brutal murder came to light from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, where a man beheaded his daughter and also chopped off the body into six pieces with an axe.
The police have arrested the accused and have initiated an investigation into the matter.
The horrific incident occurred in Mihimpurva village of Laxmanpur Matehi panchayat under the Motipur Police Station area.
The accused has been identified as Naeem Khan who killed his 17-year-old daughter Khushboo over her love affair with a young man from a neighbouring village, according to reports.
Khushboo had previously left with her boyfriend, prompting Naeem to file a complaint with the police. The authorities recovered her and advised the boy to stay away from her, but the relationship continued which fuelled Naeem's anger.
Khushboo’s boyfriend came to her house on Monday to meet her. Upon seeing the two together, Naeem became furious and severed his daughter with an axe. He then chopped the dead boy of the girl into six pieces with the axe. After the brutal murder, he sat outside the house.
On the complaint of the girl's mother, a case has been registered against the accused father and the police arrested him.
On information, the police reached the spot and took the mutilated dead body of the girl into their custody and sent it for post-mortem.
The police have initiated an investigation and are questioning the accused in the custody.
