Bulli Bai App case: Bengaluru engineering student arrested, ‘main accused’ Uttarakhand woman detained

Mumbai: A local court on Tuesday remanded the 21-year-old engineering student, arrested in connection with Bulli Bai App which has illegally put up photographs of Muslim women to show that they were on "auction", in Mumbai Police's custody till January 10.

Vishal is a second year student of engineering in Bengaluru. He used his Twitter handle to share derogatory content from the Bulli Bai App.

A woman from Uttarakhand who is suspected to be the main accused in the Bulli Bai App case has also been detained by the police, both of the accused know each other, news agency ANI reported.

Quoting Mumbai Police, ANI wrote, “The main accused woman was handling three accounts related to 'Bulli Bai' app. Co-accused Vishal Kumar opened an account by the name Khalsa supremacist. On Dec 31, he changed the names of other accounts to resemble Sikh names. Fake Khalsa account holders were shown.” (Inputs from Agencies)
