Bumrah, Rahane break into top 10 of ICC Test Rankings

Dubai: India pacer Jasprit Bumrah on Tuesday stormed into top 10 for the first time in latest ICC Test rankings after his 4th 5-wicket haul in Tests which helped India register first win in the inaugural edition of World Test Championship.
Bumrah climbed nine places to No 7 with a career-high 774 points. He also became the first Asian bowler to pick up a five-wicket haul in South Africa, England, Australia and West Indies.
Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, who scored his 10th Test hundred after two years, gained one position to move to 10th spot in the list for batsmen led by captain Virat Kohli and with another compatriot Cheteshwar Pujara occupying the fourth position.
 
Ben Stokes, who scored a match-winning 135 not out in the second innings to guide the team to an epic series-levelling one-wicket win and also took four important wickets, has advanced 13 slots to a career-best 13th place in the batting rankings with a career-best 693 rating points.
Stokes also rose by two places on the all-rounders' chart, with a career-best 411 rating points, only behind Jason Holder, after the latest update on Tuesday.
 
Meanwhile, Archer continued his stunning start to international cricket, his six wickets in the first innings helping him vault 40 places to No 43 on the MRF Tyres ICC Test Rankings for Bowlers in just his second Test.
 
Australia's, Pat Cummins remained comfortably at the top of the bowling list despite losing six points while his fellow fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has moved from 15th to 12th place after finishing with nine wickets in the match.
 
While Mohammad Shami (up two places to 19th) and Ishant Sharma (up four places to 21st) have also gained after the Antigua Test.Trent Boult, who reached the milestone of 250 Test wickets as New Zealand drew the Test series in Sri Lanka, is now in the top five. 
 
England Captain Joe Root (up two places to seventh), Joe Denly (up 15 places to 90th), Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne reached to his career-best sixth position, Dhananjaya de Silva gained 10 places to reach 46th position in the latest rankings update. (UNI)
