Candidate collapses during home guard test in Odisha; 7 others hospitalized

One candidate collapsed and died while seven others lost consciousness and were hospitalized during a physical test for home guard recruitment in Paralakhemundi, in Odisha’s Gajapati district on, Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Sulant Mishal from Parisal village in the district.
According to police sources, Sulant collapsed before completing the physical test. He was immediately rushed to the district headquarters hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Seven other candidates who also fainted during the test were admitted to the same hospital for treatment.

Reports indicated that the tragedy occurred during a 2-km run between Ranipenth and Padmapur, which was part of the physical fitness assessment for aspiring home guards. (UNI)<>
