CBI team attacked in Odisha during raid on posting child sexual abuse materials

Bhubaneswar: A four member CBI team was attacked by locals when it raided the house of one Mithun Naik in Dhenkanal for posting child sexual abuse materials.

Sources said the team had gone to the house of accused Mithun Naik located in the Jubilee colony of the Dhenkanal in Odisha when the family members resisted the team and attacked.

The CBI team has not informed the local police while visiting the house of Mithun Naik and also did not disclose their identity, the villagers said.

However, on being informed about the incident the police from the Dhenkanal town rushed to the spot and rescued the CBI team from the local people.

The police have detained some villagers in connection with the incident.

In a major crackdown against the sexual abuse of children on line, the CBI on Tuesday raided as many as 76 locations across 14 states in the country.

The raids were conducted by a special team of CBI. (UNI)
