Delhi Police after completing its investigations filed a 350 page chargesheet against Shaharukh Pathan, Kaleem Ahmad and Ishtiyak Mallik.
Delhi Police alleged that Shahrukh Pathan pointed a gun at Delhi police Head Constable Deepak Dahiya during the riots, which occurred after protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) took an ugly turn in Delhi. A video of the incident had gone viral on social media.
Delhi Police had arrested Shahrukh on March 3 from UP. Later Kaleem Ahmad was also arrested on the charges of giving shelter to Shahrukh.
Delhi Police has levelled charges against the accused under sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapons), 149 (member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence) and 216 (harboring an offender) of the Indian Penal Code and recovery of a weapon of offence, a 7.65 mm pistol and 2 live rounds from Shahrukh's possession.
