Chhattisgarh: 7 Maoists killed in encounter with security forces, AK 47 and mass weapons recovered

Jagdalpur: At least seven Maoists, including two female members, have been killed in an ongoing encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district here on Tuesday, officials said.
 
Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, Sundarraj P, said that a joint team of District Reserve Police Force and Chhattisgarh Armed Force personnel left from Abujhmad area of Narayanpur district.
 
The encounter between the police party and the Maoists lasted for about an hour in the forest between village Tekameta and Kakur in the Abujhmad area of Narayanpur district this morning, he said.
 
He said that during the search at the site after the encounter, the bodies of seven Maoist cadres, including two women, have been recovered so far and are being identified.
 
During the search, police recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition, including an AK-47 and daily-use items, he said.
 
The encounter is still reported to be going on. Further details are awaited.
