New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to "break" his silence over Chinese aggression at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Ladakh sector, saying the neighbour needed to be responded to.

He tweeted these views after a journalist of a state-owned Chinese media posted a video on the micro-blogging site, claiming that the Chinese national flag was being hoisted in Galwan valley, where a bloody clash had taken place between troops of China and India in June 2020.

The video shows some Chinese troops hoisting their national flag in some rocky mountainous place on the occasion of New Year. However, there was no surety that the flag-hoisting by the Chinese troops took place in Galwan.

There was no comment from the Government of India on it.

Shiwei has been known for leading the Chinese propaganda on social media and through his write-ups.

Earlier, Shiwei had also mocked Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman for the torture he had to undergo in captivity of Pakistan soldiers after February 2019 Balakot air strikes. Shiwei clubbed photo of Varthaman in captivity of Pakistani soldiers with his photo of receiving Vir Chakra from the President. (UNI)
