Cloudburst in Uttarakhand’s Devprayag, shops, buildings damaged; HM Shah assures all possible help (photos)

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday spoke to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat and assured him of all possible central help to the state in wake of cloudburst, occurred at 1700 hrs on Tuesday.

A cloudburst took place in Tehri district’s Devprayag area on May 11 reportedly causing damage to around 12-13 shops and other properties since most of these shops were closed due to lockdown.

The district officials have informed that no casualties have been reported so far while water level has been on the rise and a rescue operation is underway.

State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams are reaching to the spot for rescue operation, the officials added further. (UNI)
