New Delhi: Congress spokesperson Gourav Vallabh on Thursday resigned from the party's primary membership and said that he was feeling' uncomfortable' as the grand old party has become 'directionless' and he 'cannot raise anti-Sanatan slogans'.

In a letter to party president Mallikarjun Kharge, which he posted on X, Vallabh said, "I don't feel comfortable with the directionless way the Congress was moving today, which is against the basic principles of the party. I can't raise anti-Sanatan slogans nor abuse the wealth creators of the country day and night. Hence, I am resigning from all the posts and the primary membership of the Congress Party."

In the letter, Vallabh, while alleging that the party was moving in the wrong direction, said, "On the one hand, we talk about the caste-based census, and on the other hand, the party seems to oppose the entire Hindu society. This style of working gives a misleading message to the public that the Congress is a supporter of a particular religion only. "

"I am a Hindu by birth and a teacher by profession. The stand of the party on this made me uncomfortable and troubled me," he wrote to Kharge.
