Faizpur:The Congress party will independently contest future elections, be it local bodies or assembly elections, Maharashtra party chief Nana Patole said on Wednesday.
Talking to media persons here on his first leg of northern Maharashtra tour, he said, “It is not wrong to strengthen organisation. Every party has right to expand their party base and contest election on its own.”
He stated that the party has affirmed its stand in this regards and it will not take a back foot now.
He further said, “The cancellation of the OBC quota in local bodies is sin of previous BJP state government and now they are misleading the people. However, the MVA government is trying to restore the quota.”
“It is good thing that Sharad Pawar is moblising all Opposition parties against the BJP,” he told while commenting on the cross-party organized by the NCP.(UNI)
