COVID 19: Death toll crosses 1k mark, cases over 31k , 7695 cured

New Delhi:The global pandemic novel coronavirus on Wednesday caused more than 1,000 deaths while the confirmed cases due the virus went past 31,000 mark in the country and stands at 31,332, the Union Health Ministry said.
According to the Ministry, with 73 deaths reported in the the past 24 hours and the death toll rose to 1007.On Tuesday morning the toll was 934, and in just 24 hours it went up to 1007.
 
The active cases of  COVID-19 were now 22,629 in the country, the MoHFW data said.
The data further said that so far, 7,695 cases have recovered and discharged pan India.
Maharashtra continues to be the top hot spot housing 9,318 cases, the maximum number of infected in the country, along with 400 casualties.
 
Gujarat, the second most affected state in the country, now houses 3,744 cases with deaths mounting to 181, while the national capital is on the third spot as the number of infected stand at 3,314 with a death toll of 54.
 
Delhi  has maintained one of the best recovery rates in the country with more than 877 patients being cured and discharged from the hospital so far.
 
The recovery rate at present across the nation is 23.3 per cent.Madhya Pradesh,  Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh have also been witnessing rise in the number of cases of COVID-19  with the numbers now rising to 2,387, 2,364 and 2,053 respectively in these three states with MP's death toll at 120, the data added.(UNI)
