CPI(M) demands withdrawal of case against Yechury in Delhi riot case

Srinagar: The Communist Party of India (M) activists on Monday staged a ''dharna'' demanding withdrawal of case against CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury in connection with Delhi riots.
The activists assembled at Press Enclave near here on Monday raising slogans against the government for framing Yechuri and others in false cases.
 
Holding placards in their hands which reads " Withdraw false case against CPI-M General secretary Sitaram Yechury and others" they protested for some time before dispersing peacefully.
 
They alleged that Yechury and others were being implicated in false case in connection with Delhi riots. They further alleged that BJP leaders who were responsible for instigating the riots were not even questioned by the Delhi police.
 
Delhi police should immediately withdraw the false cases against Yechury and others and book the real culprits. Delhi police has filed a charge sheet against Yechury and others in connection with Delhi riots.
 
The CPI(M) activists also demanded restoration of 4G high speed internet in the Jammu and Kashmir. The high speed internet is suspended in the valley and Jammu since March 5 when centre abrogated Article 370 and 35 A besides divided the erstwhile state into two Union Territories (UTs). However, 2 G low speed internet is available in the UT.(UNI)
