Mumbai: Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is in Pakistan’s Karachi, and his wife occasionally contacts her relatives in India, Alishah Parkar told the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in minister Nawab Malik money laundering case.
Alishah Parkar a witness in the ED case is also one of the nephews of Dawood Ibrahim.
He told the ED that his family and he aren’t in contact with Dawood Ibrahim, adding that his wife Mehajabin contacts his wife and sisters during festivals.
“Dawood Ibrahim is my maternal uncle Mamoo and he used to live on the fourth floor of the Dambarwala building in Nagpada area of south Mumbai till 1986. I have heard from various sources and relatives that Dawood Ibrahim is in Karachi," he said.
“Occasionally, on Eid, Diwali and other festive occasions, Mrs Mehjabeen Dawood Ibrahim - my aunt and my maternal uncle get in touch with my wife Ayesha and my sisters," he further said.
Another witness Khalid Shaikh said he was told that Dawood would send Rs 10 lakh to his siblings every month.
He said once Dawood younger brother Iqbal Kadkar told me about this.
The statements of Alishah Parkar and Shaikh who are among the two witnesses in the case are part of the charge-sheet filed by the ED against Malik.
Reacting to the revelation made by Haseena Parkar’s son, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil said that the central government should take action on it.
“Central government should take action on it. Till now the location was not known but now as the location is clear then the central government should take it seriously and take action," Patil said. (UNI)
