New Delhi: Seeking to bring high 'josh' - spirit - of patriotism as depicted in a recently released Bollywood film, Finance Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday said the nation was safe and sound in the hands of armed forces and maintained that the Defence Budget will be enhanced beyond Rs 3 lakh crore.
"Our soldiers protect our borders, they are our heroes and our pride," he said and referred to the film 'Uri - The Surgical Strike' and said he too was glad to see the movie.
"Our Defence Budget this year is over Rs 3 lakh crore, if necessary additional funds will also be provided," Mr Goyal said amid thumping of desks by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others.
The Finance Minister underlined 10 most important dimensions that will guide the government in Vision 2030 and will help to build next-gen infrastructure - physical as well as social - for a 10 trillion dollar economy and to improve the 'Ease of Living'.
"We are poised to become a 5 trillion dollar economy in the next five years, we aspire to become a 10 trillion dollar economy in the next eight year," Mr Goyal said.
He also sought to highlight an ambitious Digital India scheme that reaches every citizen and under which the youth will lead the country by undertaking innumerable startups and jobs."India has already become second largest start ups in the world," the Finance Minister said.(UNI)
