New Delhi:In the wake of violent clashes between pro and anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protesters in National Capital's north east area the head constable of Delhi Police Ratan Lal has reportedly lost his life.
On Monday, a Delhi Police constable was killed and several others, including a DCP, were injured in the clashes in North-East Delhi's Jaffrabad and Maujpur areas.According to reports, on Sunday, the clash and stone pelting had started soon after Mr Mishra along with pro-CAA supporters gathered in Maujpur-Babarpur Metro Station, 2 km away from the Jaffrabad anti-CAA protest site, in the evening.
In a tweet, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, "Very distressing news regarding disturbance of peace and harmony in parts of Delhi coming in. I sincerely urge LG and Union Home Minister to restore law and order n ensure that peace and harmony is maintained. Nobody should be allowed to orchestrate flagrations".(UNI)
