New Delhi: An explosion was reported near a PVR multiplex in Delhi’s Prashant Vihar on Thursday, injuring a young man.
Police have found a white power at the site of the explosion.
The explosion took place around 11:48 AM near the boundary wall of a park adjoining the sweet shop, Bansi Wala.
Fire tenders promptly arrived at the scene following the reports of the blast.
Authorities, including Delhi Police Crime Branch, Special Cell, CRPF personnel, and Bomb Disposal Squad teams, were dispatched to the site to investigate the cause of the explosion.
However, it is not yet clear how and why the explosion occurred.
The injured man has been admitted to Ambedkar Hospital, where his condition is reported to be stable.
The cause of the explosion is yet to be determined. Police are questioning local residents and reviewing CCTV footage.
PTI reported citing police sources that the Thursday morning explosion bears resemblance to the blast that occurred outside a CRPF school's boundary wall in Prashant Vihar last month.
"But this was a very low-intensity blast which occurred opposite a sweet shop. We cannot link them right now," the source added.
On October 20, a strong blast ripped through a wall of the CRPF school in Rohini's Prashant Vihar area. It was later found to be a crude bomb explosion.
