Deoghar accident: Bus carrying Kanwarias collides with truck, 5 killed

Deoghar (Jharkhand): At least five Kanwarias were killed and several others were injured when the bus carrying the pilgrims collided with a truck in Deoghar district on Tuesday morning, said SK Sinha, Zonal IG of Santhal Pargana.

The accident occurred during the ongoing Shravan Kanwar Yatra, a major annual religious pilgrimage undertaken by the devotees of Lord Shiva, also known as Kanwaria.

Deoghar MP Nishikant Dubey expressed grief over the tragedy in a post on X. He wrote, "In my Lok Sabha constituency of Deoghar, during the Kanwar Yatra in the month of Shravan, 18 devotees lost their lives due to a bus and truck accident. May Baba Baidyanath Ji grant strength to their families to bear this grief."
