Srinagar: A quake, measuring 4 point 5 on the Richter scale, hit Kashmir valley, including summer capital this morning, though no casualties were reported. The tremors, which were felt at around 0544, lasted for a few seconds. People rushed out of their homes in panic.
According to United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake was Sumbal in the north Kashmir district of Baramulla, at a depth of 150 km in the Earth's crust. There was no report of any or damage to property due to the tremors, which were felt immediately after “Fajr” morning prayers. (UNI)
