Bengaluru: In a dramatic twist to the ongoing scandal involving Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, his former car driver, Karthik, surfaced with a video statement from an undisclosed location in Malaysia, igniting fresh controversy.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy cast doubts on the motives behind Karthik's relocation and raised questions regarding the involvement of BJP leader Devaraje Gowda.

Known for his astute political insight, Kumaraswamy scrutinised the timing and intentions behind Karthik's video release, hinting at potential connections with Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Congress MP DK Suresh.

"The sudden emergence of the driver's video statement from Malaysia raises suspicion. Why was it released from there? Who orchestrated this move? These are pressing questions demanding answers," asserted Kumaraswamy during a press conference.

In response to Kumaraswamy's implications, Shivakumar denied any involvement, pledging to await the truth's revelation and disavowing such tactics.

The scandal erupted when explicit video clips allegedly featuring Prajwal circulated in Hassan, prompting the Karnataka Congress government to launch a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe.

In his video statement, Karthik distanced himself from the distribution of the controversial footage, hinting at the potential motives of BJP leader Devaraje Gowda.

However, Devaraje Gowda dismissed Karthik's allegations, citing his alleged association with Congress candidate Shreyas Patel and insinuating political maneuvering behind the scandal.
Amidst heightened political tensions preceding elections, the scandal has exacerbated party rivalries, with accusations flying in all directions.

Prajwal, aged 33 and belonging to the influential Gowda family, remains embroiled in the controversy as investigations continue into the scandal gripping the state's political landscape.
As the scandal unfolds, all eyes turn to the SIT's impending findings, expected to unveil the true orchestrators behind the dissemination of explicit videos and the underlying political motivations.
