New Delhi: Farmers, who are protesting against the Centre’s three new farm laws, on Thursday took out a tractor march at four borders of Delhi, including Eastern and Western peripheral.

The tractor march, which was held amid heavy security deployment, commenced from four points namely Singhu to Tikri Border, Tikri to Kundli, Ghazipur to Palwal and Rewasan to Palwal.

Meanwhile, their protest against the three new farm laws at Delhi’s periphery entered 43rd day.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Wednesday expressed hope that the farmer unions, who are protesting against the Centre’s three new farm laws, will reach at a solution after discussion.

Talking to mediapersons, Mr Tomar had said the Centre is committed to the welfare of farmers. “We meet those who are supporting the new farm laws as well as those who are opposing it,” he said.

The Minister said he was sure that the agitating farmer unions would think about the welfare of farmers and actively arrive at a solution.

The protesting farmers have clarified that they will not settle for anything less than repeal of the three new farm laws and legalising MSP.

The agitators have asserted that the protest will continue till the demands are met.

The seventh round of talks between farmers’ representatives and the government remained inconclusive with both sides deciding to meet again for the next round on January 8. (UNI)
