Fatwa against Muslim Minister for raising ‘Jai Sri Ram’ slogan

Patna: A religious organisation Imarat-e-Sharia today issued ‘fatwa’ against Bihar Minority Welfare Minister Firoz Ahmed alias Khurshid for raising ‘Jai Sri Ram’ slogan. Maulana Mufti Sohail Ahmed Kasmi of Imarat-e-Sharia, Phulwarisharif issued Fatwa against Mr Ahmed saying a Muslim could not raise such a slogan, which was not in conformity with Islam`s tenets and beliefs.

According to the fatwa, Mr Ahmed also did not follow Islam values by paying obeisance to Rahim as well as Lord Ram and also kneeling down before places of worships belonging to all faiths. In fatwa, it has also been pointed out that his marriage also stood annulled due to such a mistake. He said other members of Muslim community should not keep relationship with such a Muslim, hastening to add that it was his personal opinion. (UNI)
