Fodder scam case: RJD chief Lalu Prasad convicted by special CBI court, sentence on 3rd January

Ranchi: A special CBI court on Saturday convicted Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad in a fodder scam case related to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 89.4 lakhs from the Deoghar treasury in the 1992-1994 periodThe court of special CBI judge Shivpal Singh convicted Lalu Prasad and 14 others in case number RC64A/96. 

Ex-Chief Minister of undivided Bihar and Congress veteran Jagannath Mishra was, however, acquitted. The court also acquitted seven others. January 3 was set for the announcement of quantum of punishment.Lalu Prasad willl be shifted to Birsa Munda Central Jail located at Hotwar.(UNI)
