Former BJP MP Sharad Tripathi dies at 50, BJP top brass mourns

Lucknow: Former BJP Uttar Pradesh MP Sharad Tripathi passed away at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on Wednesday night. He was 50.
According to family sources, he was suffering from liver-related problems.Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday condoled the demise of former BJP MP Sharad Tripathi.
 
"Shri Sharad Tripathi’s untimely demise has left me as well as many others saddened. He loved serving society and working for the downtrodden. He made unique efforts to popularise the ideals of Sant Kabir Das Ji. Condolences to his family and supporters. Om Shanti," Mr Modi tweeted.
 
Mr Shah termed his demise a 'great loss' to the BJP.
 
"BJP's hardworking leader and former Sant Kabir Nagar MP Shri Sharad Tripathi ji always raised issues related to the interests of the public. His untimely death is great loss to the BJP family. I express my condolences to the bereaved family and his supporter," the Home Minister tweeted.
 
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in his condolence message, said: "The news of the untimely death of former Sant Kabir Nagar MP is saddening. May Lord Ram give strength to the family members to bear the pain."

Union Cabinet Minister for Textiles and Women & Child Development Smriti Irani condoled his demise.
 
"Deeply saddened. It seems that Sharad will speak now: let's go Didi, we have to organise a program in the area. He has left us, may be this was the will of the Lord. May his soul find eternal peace," the Union Minister tweeted in Hindi.
 
Uttar Pradesh state BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh also mourned his demise.
 
Tripathi is survived by his wife, two daughters and two sons. His father Ramapati Ram Tripathi is MP from Deoria, UP. According to family sources, he was suffering from liver-related problems.
 
Sharad Tripathi was elected as a member of parliament from the Sant Kabir Nagar Lok Sabha seat in 2014.His last rites will be performed on the banks of Saryu River in Ayodhya on Friday morning.(UNI)
