Bilaspur: Janta Congress Chhattisgarh President and former Marwahi legislator Amit Jogi erstwhile chief minister Ajit Jogi's sonwas placed under arrest on Tuesday at Marwahi Sadan in this district headquarters on the charge of furnishing erroneous information in an election affidavit, law-enforcement authorities said.
Earlier, a case was registered under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code subsequent to a complaint by Ms Sameera Paikra who unsuccessfully contested from Marwahi as the Bharatiya Janata Party nominee in 2013. Ms Paikra alleged that Amit Jogi's place of birth as written in the document was inaccurate and there was another anomaly as well.Since early Tuesday, Amit Jogi's residence was deluged with khaki uniforms.(UNI)
