Gumla: In a yet another case of mob lynching, four elderly people including a couple were lynched to death in Piskari village under Sisai Police Station area of this district over alleged practice of witchcraft.
The deceased have been identified as Suna Oraon (62), Fagni (60) Chapa Bhagat (62) and his wife Piri Devi (60).
Locals said that around midnight 12 masked men equipped with sticks reached the village and forcibly brought the four people in the open and beat them up mercilessly however due to the fear none of the villagers came out to protest and save them.
After executing the incident, all the men fled from the village. On the other hand Gumla SP Anjani Kumar said that all the deceased hail from Piskari and use to practice witchcraft in their homes.
Today all the bodies were sent for post-mortem to Sadar Hospital. Further probe was on. (UNI)
