Kolkata: Centenarian freedom fighter Bhim Chandra Jana, an avowed follower of Gandhian philosophy, breathed his last due to age-related ailments in Howrah district on Friday.He was 107 and is survived by six sons, as many daughters and children.
The veteran freedom fighter, who was a widower, passed away at his residence in Marotala under Shyampur police station.The freedom fighter, arrested for the first time in 1930 at the age of 17, was also later lodged at Hijli and Alipore prisons.The Union Government conferred award on Jana post-Independence.(UNI)
