Gandhi Family exercised voting rights in ongoing fifth phase of Lok Sabha polls

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday appealed to voters to exercise their franchise as every single vote will not only improve their life but also protect the Constitution and democracy.

The Gandhi family -- Sonia, Rahul, Priyanka, besides her husband Robert Vadra and their kids Raihan and Miraya cast their votes together celebrating the festival of democracy along with all Delhiites.

Later Rahul Gandhi shared a selfie with his mother and Chairperson of Congress Parliamentary Party Sonia Gandhi with their inked fingers.

"Mother and I contributed to this great festival of democracy by casting our votes. All of you should also come out of your homes in large number and vote for your rights and future of your family," Rahul Gandhi posted on X.

He said, "In the first five phases of voting, you have rejected lies hatred and propaganda and gave priority to ground-level issues related to your lives".

He further said that every vote will ensure the youth get jobs, poor women are made financially stable, farmers get fair MSP for their crops and made debt-free, labourers get the minimum daily wage of Rs 400.

His sister and party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra after voting said on X, "Voted to protect our Constitution, democracy and people's rights. You people must also take part in this festival of democracy by voting in large numbers".

The entire Gandhi-Vadra family came out early and voted at their respective booths.

It may be mentioned that the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are contesting unitedly in the seven seats of Delhi. While the grand old party is contesting from three seats the AAP from four seats. This would be the first time Congress will vote for AAP and vice versa as per their INDIA bloc commitment.(UNI)<>
