New Delhi: Election Commission on Friday announced by-election to two Lok Sabha seats -- Gorakhpur and Phulpur in Uttar Pradesh on March 11.According to the official release here on Friday, the notification for the bypolls would be issued on February 13.
The Gorakhpur seat was vacated by UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath while the Phulpur seat by deputy state CM Keshav Prasad Maurya.As per the programme, the last date for filing of nominations is February 20 while on the next day, the papers would be scrutinised. February 23 is the last date for withdrawal of the papers.The polling would be held on March 11 and counting of votes would be taken up on March 14.(UNI)
