Greetings pour in from across world on India's Independence Day

New Delhi: World leaders congratulated India on the 78th Independence Day, with French President Emmanuel Macron, Russian President Vladimir Putin joining leaders from the neighbourhood including the Maldives, Bhutan and Nepal to send their greetings.
 
French President Macron, in his X post said: “I remember your warm welcome during my visit to India in January and look forward to working with my friend @NarendraModi on achieving the ambitious goals we have set for our strategic partnership.”
 
PM Modi, in his reply, said:
 
“I thank my good friend, President @EmmanuelMacron for the wishes on our Independence Day. I too fondly recall not only his India visit but also our various interactions, which have added great strength to the India-France partnership. We will keep working together to further global good.”

Mauritius PM Pravind Jugnauth, in a post on X, said: “Warmest congratulations to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji @narendramodi and to the people of India on the occasion of your 78th Independence Day.
 
“Long live the vibrant and ever flourishing Mauritius Bharat relationship.
 
“Congratulations to the Indian people on your 78th Independence Day!”
 
PM Modi, in his reply, said:
 
 
Maldives President Mohd Muizzu, in a post on X, extended greetings:
 
“On the occasion of India’s Independence Day, I extend heartfelt congratulations to President @rashtrapatibhvn, Prime Minister @narendramodi, and the people of India.
 
“Our enduring friendship, rooted in history, has evolved to foster prosperity and development in the Maldives and the region. As we look to the future, I am confident that our partnership will continue to strengthen, driving mutual prosperity and shared goals.”
 
PM Modi, in his reply, posted:

New Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli, in his message of greetings, posted on X:
 
“Warm congratulations to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji and the people of India on 78th Independence Day! May this day strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our nations. Looking forward to advancing Nepal-India relations. #IndependenceDayIndia”
 
PM Modi, in his reply, posted:

Bhutanese PM Tshering Tobgay, in his greetings, said:
 
“Wishing the government and people of India a very happy Independence Day! May the special friendship between Bhutan-India grow ever stronger. @narendramodi @PMOIndia”
 
 
The Russian President sent a message of congratulation to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the country's Independence Day, the Kremlin said on Thursday.
 
"Dear Madam President, Dear Prime Minister, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of India's national holiday - Independence Day. Over 77 years of independent development, your country has achieved universally recognized successes in socio-economic, scientific, technical and many other fields, and has gained high prestige on the world stage.
 
“We value relations of a particularly privileged strategic partnership with India. I am confident that the consistent implementation of the agreements reached following our recent talks in Moscow will contribute to the further development of multifaceted Russian-Indian cooperation. This undoubtedly meets the interests of our friendly peoples and is in line with strengthening international stability and security," the message read.
 
Besides, greetings also poured in from the foreign ministers of different countries to EAM S Jaishankar, and from the foreign ministries of various countries, including from the Middle East.
