Malappuram: In a gruesome incident, two cousins riding a motorcycle died after their vehicle crashed into the hand railing of an under-construction bridge in this district of Kerala, police said on Sunday.
The motorcycle skidded off the road and rammed into the iron rods placed to build the bridge's handrails at Veliancode on National Highway-66 on Saturday night. The iron rods pierced the bodies of both the youths.
Police said the deceased are cousins and identified them as P Ashik (22), son of P Shihab, and M V Fazil (19), son of Shareef.
While Ashik died on the, spot Fazil breathed his last on the way to Kottakkal MIMS hospital.
