New Delhi:Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Wednesday extended his greetings on International Nurse Day and thanked the caregiving community for their efforts to look after the world during a global pandemic.
“Thank you nurses for going the extra mile in your efforts to nurse the world to health during COVID19,” the Minister posted on Twitter.
“Your commitment to provide efficient & effective care founded on professionalism, skills & deep compassion is awe inspiring," he added.
He said that International Nurses Day is a day for all of us to take inspiration from the life of modern nursing founder Felorins Nightingale, who devoted his entire life to serving patients. “The world the meaning of service by serving the injured in the battlefield even under adverse circumstances,” Mr Vardhan tweeted in Hindi.
International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth- the world's most famous English nurse who founded the key pillars of modern nursing.(UNI)
