Hearing on death warrants against Nirbhaya Rapists adjourned for January 7

New Delhi: Additional Sessions Judge Satish Kumar Arora, on Wednesday, after hearing a plea seeking issuance of death warrants against four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case, adjourned it for January 7, 2020, for further hearing.
On December 16-17, 2012,  a 23-year-old paramedic student was gang raped inside a running bus in south Delhi by six people and severely assaulted before being thrown out on the road. She succumbed to injuries on December 29 at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.In July last year, the Supreme Court dismissed the review petition filed on behalf of three convicts--Mukesh, Pawan Gupta and Vinay Sharma-- affirming that there were no grounds to review the 2017 verdict.
