Heatwave to hit Delhi, temperature likely to touch 45 Degree Celsius

New Delhi: After a brief respite from the scorching heat, the national capital is likely to face another spell of heatwave and the maximum temperature is likely to settle around 41 degree Celsius, as per India Meteorological Department on Monday.

"The maximum temperature could be around 44 degrees Celsius on May 11, and it could rise further to 45 degrees Celsius by May 14" said the IMD.

The weather agency said the maximum temperature over Northwest India is likely to increase by two to four degrees in the next four days.

On Monday morning the minimum temperature recorded was 27.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal for this time of the year.

Over the next six days, the minimum temperature could be around 28 or 29 degrees Celsius, as per the forecast.

At 8.30 am on Monday, the relative humidity was recorded at 60 per cent.

On Sunday, the maximum temperature recorded was 40.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees above the normal, at the Safdarjung weather observatory. (UNI)
