Chamba/Shimla (HP): There is an atmosphere of tension after the Manohar massacre in Bhandal valley of Saloni area of Chamba district.
On the previous day, angry people set the house of the accused of the murder on fire. Since then the district administration has imposed section 144 in the area.
Manohar Lal, a 21-year-old man, was killed brutally over a “love affair” and his body chopped into pieces was dumped in a water stream last week.
The administration is fully alert to ensure that no untoward incident takes place in the area. Police force has been deployed in the area.
Along with this, special teams have also been deployed in the area of Saluni, Kihar, Bhandal and Saghni. SP Chamba Abhishek Yadav and DC Chamba Apoorva Devgan are also present on the spot.
SIT headed by DSP is keeping special watch. After the imposition of Section 144, a large number of police forces have been deployed under the leadership of DSP in Saluni area.
During this, DSP, the head of the SIT, was seen giving instructions to the police personnel. After the imposition of Section 144, the police are keeping a special vigil in Saluni and surrounding areas.
Schools will remain closed for 7 days in Saluni area: After the imposition of section 144 in Saluni area, all government and private schools here have been closed for 1 week. Children have been asked not to come to school.
An official spokesman said this decision has been taken after the imposition of section 144. At present, orders have been given to keep all the schools closed for 1 week.
After the imposition of Section 144, both Chamba SP and DC have taken charge themselves. Both are standing firm in the Bhandal Valley and are closely monitoring every aspect.
To maintain brotherhood in society, the district administration is continuously talking to the people. Special care is being taken so that no one should face any problem. Today the situation is a bit relieved. After the imposition of Section 144, the situation seems to be under control.
