HORRIFIC! Woman worker's hair gets stuck in machine, head severed at Tiruvallur Aavin milk factory

Chennai: In a freak mishap, A 30-year-old woman contract worker was killed after her hair got stuck while loading milk sachets in one of the machines at the Aavin milk factory at Kakalur in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday night.
 
Police sources said the deceased woman, working on contract basis, was identified as Uma Maheswari.
 
While she was loading the milk sachets, her hair got caught in the conveyor belt of the milk vending motor. Under the impact, her head got pulled into the motor and was severed, killing her on the spot.
 
On hearing the screams from coworkers, the machine was stopped.
 
Police rushed to the spot and shifted her body to the Government College Hospital for postmortem.
 
A case was registered in the Tiruvallur Taluk police station and investigations are on.
