IAF chopper crashes with 7 on board near China border

Tezpur: All seven people on board an Indian Air Force helicopter were killed when the copter crashed near the Indo-China border in Arunachal Pradesh today. The MI 17 V 5 chopper of IAF crashed at around 0630 hours at remote Patoghar area, about 100 kms from Tawang town and near the international border with China, Tawang SP Manoj Kumar Meena confirmed. The helicopter had flown from Kharimura in Tawang town earlier this morning.
 

Meena said rescue teams of Army and Air Force have reached the accident spot and were in the process of retrieving the bodies and debris. All seven people on board were killed in the crash. The victims are yet to be identified and the cause of accident ascertained. (UNI)
