New Delhi:With the highest ever spike of 5,611 infections in a single day so far, India's COVID tally jumped to 1,06,750 on Wednesday morning, the Health Ministry update said.
The overall number of fatalities due to the virus reached 3,303 after 140 more people lost their battle to the pandemic since Tuesday.
With the addition of 2,347 fresh patients, cases under active medical supervision in the country are now standing at 61,149, as per the government data.
With improvement on the recoveries front, 3,124 patients were cured and discharged over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID survivors to 42,297 pan India.
As the country enters third day of lockdown 4.0 with slightly eased restrictions in several states, citizens have expressed concern over the possibility of rapid spread of virus, while the rest are trying to go about their daily lives learning to live in this new normal sort of situation.
