Indian diplomat Gaurav Ahluwalia to get consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav

New Delhi: Ending hours of speculation, India on Monday confirmed that Kulbhushan Jadhav will be granted consular access by Pakistan later in the day.Government sources said India has been seeking consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav for the last three years. 
"The matter of denial of consular access was taken to International Court of Justice (ICJ)  by India. The court gave a unanimous decision in favour of India." 
 
A government source said - "...after victory in the ICJ, India will be proceeding for consular access to Mr Jadhav."The source said Indian Charge d' Affaires,  Gaurav Ahluwalia, will be meeting Shri Jadhav. 
 
"We hope that the Pakistan will ensure right atmosphere so that the meeting is free, fair, meaningful and effective in keeping with the letter and spirit of the ICJ orders," the source said.(UNI)
