Indian football star & best goalkeeper of ISL 20-21, Arindam Bhattacharya joins BJP

Kolkata: Indian football star and ATK-Mohun Bagan goalkeeper captain Arindam Bhattacharya on Tuesday formally joined BJP in presence of Bollywood star Mithun Chakraborty and party's information cell chief Amit Malvia here.

The 31-year-old bearded footballer was awarded the best goalkeeper in the recently concluded cash-rich ISL tournament for 2020-2021 for leading ATK-Mohun Bagan into the runners up.

Matinee idol Mithun Chakraborty, who joined the BJP in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Brigade Parade ground rally on March 7, offered uttario to the footballer in the BJP office where scores of others, including women joined the saffron brigade.

Arindam Bhattacharya said that football sport has given him huge benefit to be closed to many fans and he wanted to return them with the service in future.

Former India cricket star Ashoke Dinda also joined the party and contested this election as BJP candidate from Mednapore.
