Islamabad: Radical Islamic preacher and Indian fugitive Zakir Naik is to visit Pakistan in October to deliver a series of lectures in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, a news report said.

Naik, who fled India in 2016, faces charges in India of spreading hatred, money laundering and terrorism.

According to an update posted on his official Facebook page on September 20, Naik is visiting Pakistan “on the invitation of the Government of Pakistan”. His tour starts on October 5 in Karachi and concludes in Islamabad on October 20, the tribune.com.pk reported.

His son, Fariq Naik, also an Islamic scholar, will join him on the tour, delivering lectures in all three cities.

The Karachi event will take place at Bagh-e-Quaid, located opposite the mausoleum of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Naik stays in Malaysia, and India continues to pursue his extradition from there. Recently, Naik took to social media to exhort Indian Muslims to reject the Waqf Amendment Bill, to which Union Minister Kiren Rijiju warned him on social media against interfering in the Waqf Amendment Bill Debate.
