Only two months to go for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 in India and whatsapp is expected to play a crucial part to drive voters into a particluar directions by political parties. Carl Woog, a top whatsapp officical head of communications accepted that Indian political parties misuse the app feature to influence the public's mind.
whatsapp did not reveal the name of the parties or the faulty process but accepted their concern over the abuse of the app. Mass messaging or circulation of fake news are two ways the parties may choose. Carl Woog also warned the political parties in case of misuse, a ban will be put on the services the app provides.
Whatsapp is widely used by the workers of both Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress. Both parties blame the other of creating fake news. Whatsapp has been under the scanner eversince a few incidnets of mob lynchings casued by the fake news spread through it.
