Ahemdamad : An intense battle of one-upmasnhip has begun between Gujarat government and the senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel with the state Chief Minister Vijay Rupani alleging that CWC member has possible links to a suspected terrorist arrested few days back from Bharuch. Mr Ahmed Patel, also a Rajya Sabha member and known for his proximity with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, has already dismissed the charges saying, matters of national security "should not be politicised". "We request that matters of national security not be politicised keeping elections in mind," tweeted Mr Patel late Friday night.
His missive in the micro blogging site came close on the heels of Gujarat Chief Minister Mr Rupani demanding resignation of Ahmed Patel from the Rajya Sabha. The Chief Minister also asked Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi to clarify on the matter. The Chief Minister's reference was about one Mohammed Qasim Stimberwala, one of the two alleged IS operatives arrested by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad on Wednesday. (UNI)
