Intruder entered in Farooq Abdullah's Jammu residence shot dead, Omar tweets

Jammu: An unidentified intruder on Saturday morning barged into the residence of National Conference president and Member of Parliament Dr Farooq Abdullah, was shot dead by the security personnel in Bhatindi area here on city outskirts.

"A man driving a car rammed into the residence of Dr Abdullah by breaking security barricades in his Bhatindi based residence was shot dead," police sources here said."He entered from the front door and later barged into the lobby of the house," they added.
 
They said that around 1026 hours, the man travelling in an XUV- 500 car entered forcibly into the residence belong to Dr  Farooq Abdullah in Bhatindi area from upper gate.However, the sentry of CRPF at the gate, warned the intruder before shooting. He died on the spot, police said.
 
The intruder later was identified as Murad Hussain Shah, resident of Ghaluta, Mendhar, Poonch."Nothing is recovered from the vehicle and the possession of the deceased," they added.
 
Meanwhile, NC vice president and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah soon after the incident tweeted, "further details are awaited as the security personnel carry out the anti-sabotage checks & ascertain the background of the person who was able to force his way in to the house".
 
"I am aware of the incident that took place at the residence my father & I share in Bhatindi, Jammu. Details are sketchy at the moment. Initial reports suggest an intruder was able to gain entry through the front door & into the upper lobby of the house,"  Omar tweeted.(UNI)
