PHOTOS: IRCTC's first super luxury Sri Ramayana Yatra train to roll today, all 156 seats sold out

New Delhi: As IRCTC flags off its first super luxury Sri Ramayana Yatra train costing Rs 82,950-1,02,095 per person on Sunday, all seats in the train are sold out with devotees thronging to visit places associated with Lord Rama's life.

Designed on the lines of ultra luxury Palace on Wheels and Deccan Odyssey, the Sri Ramayana Yatra train would depart from Delhi's Safdarjung railway station today and cover 7,500 km in its 17 days and 16 nights journey.

While the AC-II class configuration is priced at Rs 82,950 per person, the first AC would cost a whopping Rs 1,02,095. Both the classes together can accommodate 156 persons.

Buoyed by the overwhelming response for the train, the IRCTC has decided to run this tour again on December 12, 2021 with similar price and duration.

First halt of this train will be Ayodhya, where tourists will visit Shri Ram Janmbhumi temple and Hanuman temple and additionally, Bharat Mandir at Nandigram.

After Ayodhya, next destination will be Sitamarhi in Bihar and visit of Sita Ji’s birth place and Ram-janki Temple in Janakpur (Nepal) will be covered by road.

Post Sitamarhi, train will move to Varanasi, and tourist will visit temples at Varanasi, Prayag, Shringverpur and Chitrakoot by road. Night stay will be provided at Varanasi, Prayag and Chitrakoot.

Further, next halt of the train will be Nasik, wherein visit of Triyambakeshwar temple and Panchvati will be covered. Next destination after Nasik will be Hampi, the ancient Krishkindha city. The visitors will be given information about the birth place of Lord Hanuman and the temple dedicated to him. Besides, other heritage and religious sites will be covered.

"Rameshwaram will be the last destination of this train tour, after which train will return to Delhi on the 17th Day of its Journey. Guests will be travelling roughly 7500 km in this entire tour," said IRCTC in a statement here. (UNI)
