J-K: Five LeT over ground workers held, arms, ammunition recovered in Sopore

Srinagar: Security forces have arrested five Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in the apple township of Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.

A police official on Tuesday said that following specific, a joint team of Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K police, Army and CRPF carried out several raids Tujar and Harwan areas in Sopore late on Monday evening.

“During the raids, security forces arrested five OGWs from Sopore,” he further said, adding the accused belong to LeT.

He stated that incriminating materials, including five hand grenades, one UBGL thrower and one UBGL Grenade were recovered on their disclosure.

“The OGWs were providing logistic and other support to militants in the area,” he added. (UNI)
