Srinagar: A local commander of the Jaish-e-Mohammed, who was also an expert in making improvised explosives device (IED) for the outfit, and a foreign militant were killed in an encounter in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday morning, police said.
Police has termed the killing of the Jaish commander Yasir Parray, an IED expert and Furqan, a foreign militant as a "big success."
They said the gunfight erupted at Qasbayar village in Rajpur Pulwama when a joint of team of the different security forces launched a search operation in the area following an input about the presence of militants in the area.
Police said two militants were killed in the ensuing gunfight.
