Srinagar: A bank manager was shot dead in a yet another targeted attack in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday morning, official sources said.
They said Vijay Kumar, Manager of Ellaqai Dehati Bank, was shot by unidentified gunmen at Arreh in Kulgam.
“He was critically wounded in the attack and was shifted to hospital where doctors declared him dead,” official sources said.
Kumar, a resident of Hanumangarh Rajasthan, was posted just one week back in the area, they added.
Police has so far said bank manager received grievous gunshot injuries in this terror incident.
Soon after the attack, a massive hunt has been launched to trace the attackers.
The latest targeted killing took place two days after a 36-year-old school teacher, Rajni Bala from Samba Jammu, was shot dead in the same district. There has been a spurt in targeted attacks on minorities in Kashmir since May. (UNI)
