Jawed Habib apologizes for allegedly "Anti Hindu" advertisement

New Delhi: Celebrity hair-stylist Jawed Habib has publicly apologized for a 'controversial ad' that seemed to have hurt the sentiments of a particular section of society. In the ad in question, Hindu gods and goddesses like Saraswati, Laxmi, Durga, Ganesh and Kartikeya were shown having 'leisure time'. The tagline of the ad goes as "Even the Gods visit JH saloon". Habib has uploaded a video on his Twitter account in which he has publicly sought apology for the ad and clarified that he had no intention to hurt the feelings of anyone. (Pic Twitter)
 

He also made it clear that his company was not involved in the release of the ad, but one of his companions did so without his prior permission. Much controversy erupted regarding the ad and people alleged that its publication was 'purported'. A letter from the Director at Habib's twitter, Prag Doshi was also shared on the Twitter. This letter was addressed to 'Guru' of Hindu ashram Jitendra Maharaj. It says that some residents of West Bengal have withdrawn the said ad which was put on social media without Mr Habib's knowledge.
