Delhi court to hear JNU sedition case on 29th March

New Delhi: A local court on Monday granted more time to Delhi Police for filling the required sanction from the Delhi government, in a charge sheet filed in connection with the  sedition case against three JNU students, including Kanhaiya Kumar, for  allegedly raising anti-India slogans.
On January 14, Delhi Police had filed a charge sheet against former JNU Students Union President Kanhaiya Kumar, Anirban Bhattacharya, Syed Umar Khalid and others in the case.
A protest was held in JNU on February 9, 2016, against the death sentence given to Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat, during which anti-national slogans were raised.
 
Police has verified the video clips aired by the national news channel and today submitted before the court that it would take two to three months to procure sanctions.Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Deepak Sherawat, after hearing the plea on behalf of Delhi Police, adjourned the matter for March 29.(UNI)
